Biography for Olwen Jones

Inspired by the intricate shapes and forms of plants flowers birds and the occasional cat accentuated against the geometric shapes of manmade structures, makes one appreciate with incredulity our natural world.  Olwen’s colours are always fresh with an inclination towards blues lilacs and greens lifted by the odd accent of a bright warm colours here and there which make her paintings sing with exhilaration.

Olwen lives and works just outside Colchester alongside her husband and fellow Royal Watercolour Society artist Charles Bartlett. Painting is Olwen’s life, however she does still find time for her other interest which is spending time in both her garden and visiting our various botanical gardens around the UK,  however this is also for research and pleasure, as she will spend hours painting and drawing in situ.
